M&S brings multi-channel retailing in store

Marks & Spencer is to roll out next generation polytouch, self-service terminals across its high street stores in the UK. The interactive, self-service solution was delivered by Wincor Nixdorf and Pyramid Computer GmbH and is to be deployed in order to unite online and in-store shopping for Marks and Spencer’s multi-channel consumers.

F.Hinds opts for Cybertill EPoS system

F. Hinds, Britain’s largest independent family jewellers has recently upgraded its in store electronic point of sale (EPoS) system with a Cybertill cloud based solution.

The jeweller will deploy the new EPoS system across its entire estate of 112 stores located in England and Wales.

John Lewis trials trend-setting shopping technology

John Lewis has announced that it is trialling three new retail technologies in its department stores over the festive period.

“We intend to keep investing and innovating in our shops so that they remain compelling and hassle-free places for customers, offering multiple reasons to visit them,” said Simon Russell, director of retail operations development at John Lewis.

Tablet commerce will triple this year

Tablet commerce will triple this year to reach £4.74 billion according to eMarketer. The rise means that it will account for 10.4 per cent of total UK retail e-commerce sales, and by 2017 it will have a quarter share at nearly £18 billion.

Total retail e-commerce sales for this year are predicted to hit £45.40 billion and double–digit growth is expected for several years.
