Waitrose targets the ‘transumer’

Technology and convenience are yet again working together to extend a helping hand to the busy consumer.

This time it is Waitrose supermarket providing a flexible shopping service to its customers by offering fully automated, temperature-controlled, grocery Click & Collect lockers across the transport network.

Wearable technology to boost people MOTs

The potential of wearable technology has recently been recognised by drugstore retailer Lloydspharmacy that is now selling wearable devices in store. The technology will be used as a means to support the customer with their healthcare needs while differentiating the company from its rivals.

Retailers act to stop online fraud

Retailers are working together to overcome online fraud in a new coalition known as ‘Trade’.

The fraud and loss prevention tactic hopes to detect fraudulent activity as it happens and speed up subsequent actions by sharing transactional data. QVC and Shop Direct as well as other big retailers are part of the scheme managed by Transactis, consumer insight and anti-fraud specialist.

IKEA trials motivational mirrors in store

In an effort to make its customers have a feel good shopping experience and potentially sell more mirrors and products in general, IKEA is testing interactive mirrors in store.

At the home retailer’s Wembley store customers will be able to experience a compliment as they pass or stop to check their reflection in the motion-sensing mirror.
